We are located in the beautiful County of Rappahannock nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains approximately 90 southwest of Washington, DC and 60 north of Charlottesville our county has been described as an isolated paradise.  Our predominantly agricultural, rural community boasts a population of around 7,000 residents and only a single caution light. (There are no stop lights).  In the Piedmont region of Virginia, our county has beautiful views of the Blue Ridge and rolling green hills many of which are dotted with cattle or horses.  With over 34,000 acres protected by conservation easements, the county has the highest percentage of acreage in easement protected properties of all the surrounding counties.  We are very proud to be able to see the Milky Way in our night sky which is a rarity here in the East and we the Shenandoah National Park borders us.

Wollam Write Up Below

Over 80 varieties of cut flowers are grown on this 11-accre farm in northern Virginia, located 70 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.

If you have a passion for flowers, Wollam Gardens is the place to work, learn, live and grow your floriculture dream. Floriculture Interns have the opportunity to learn all aspects of a cut-flower growing operation, including seeding, planting, weeding, harvesting, bouquet making, and assisting with sales at area farmers markets. Interns will get dirty, work hard, experience an amazing hands-on learning environment, and see first-hand the beauty of this unique operation. Interns are needed from March through December. The initial commitment is 10 weeks, but may be extended or curtailed based on performance, need, and availability. Life on the farm is a communal living experience—all Interns will share in the chores of cooking, cleaning, and hosting visitors to the farm’s AirBnB rooms. Farm and/or floral experience is not required. If you have an outstanding work ethic, team spirit, an eye for beauty and color, and a love of the outdoors, apply online.
